Terlahir dengan nama Whitney Elizabeth Houston pada 9 Agustus 1963, penyanyi yang satu ini memang ditakdirkan untuk menjadi seorang legenda musik. Whitney memulai karir musiknya menjadi solois dalam paduan suara gereja di bawah asuhan ibunda, Cissy Houston. Dengan nama besar sepupunya, Dionne Warwick, yang lebih dulu terkenal dan ibu babtisnya, Aretha Franklin, tak heran jika Whitney memiliki musikalitas yang luar biasa. Cissy sering membawa Whitney ke dapur rekaman saat Cissy menjadi backing vocal untuk artis-artis pada masa itu.

Awalnya Whitney masuk dapur rekaman sebagai backing vocal untuk Chaka Khan untuk lagu ‘I’m Every Woman’, lagu yang kemudian menjadi hit Whitney pada album ‘The Bodyguard’. Setelah Chaka, Whitney juga membantu Lou Rawls dan Jermaine Jackson. Sebelum bergabung dengan Arista, Whitney telah mendapatkan tawaran rekaman dari label lain. Tapi Cissy memaksa Whitney untuk menyelesaikan SMA-nya terlebih dulu sambil menunggu tawaran dan produser yang tepat untuk menangani karir musik Whitney. Akhirnya Clive Davis-lah yang beruntung meminang Whitney untuk masuk dapur rekaman pada tahun 1983. Nampaknya memang Cissy menunggu tawaran dari Clive Davis datang. Clive Davis adalah nama besar dibalik superstar musik dunia mulai Dionne Warwick, Janis Joplin, di masa lalu hingga Alicia Keys di masa kini. Beberapa produser musik ditawari untuk menangani album perdana Whitney tapi banyak yang menyangsikan kemampuannya yang masih muda. Whitney kemudian dikenal lewat timbre suaranya yang komersial lembut sekaligus powerful. Range vocalnya yang lebar membuat banyak vokalis saat ini macam Beyonce dan Christina Aguilera mengidolakannya.

Akhirnya pada Februari 1985, dirilislah album perdana self titled, Whitney Houston. Meski album ini dipuji-puji oleh Rolling Stones dan New York Times, penjualannya lambat. Singel pertama yang dirilis ‘Someone for Me’ gagal menembus chart. Adalah single ‘You Give Good Love’ yang mulai mengangkat nama Whitney di pasar R&B. Clive menginginkan Whitney menembus batas rasial dengan tampil pada show-show malam di televisi Amerika yang saat itu terbilang rasialis. Berkat single ‘How Will I Know’ yang sukses besar, nama Whitney mulai bergaung dimana-mana. Berkat video ini pula Whitney berhasil mendobrak aturan rasial MTV saat itu. Jika Michael Jackson mewakili musisi pria kulit hitam mendobrak aturan rasial MTV ini, maka Whitney Houston-lah yang membuka jalan bagi artis musisi perempuan kulit hitam berikutnya untuk tampil di MTV. Bahkan seorang Janet Jackson dan Anita Baker mengakui berkat Whitney-lah mereka bisa tampil di MTV. Singel penutup album perdana ini yang bernuansa pop jazz ballad ‘The Greatest Love of All’ menjadi penutup yang manis bagi awal perjalanan karir Whitney. Berkat album ini Whitney meraih berbagai penghargaan mulai dari Grammy, Emmy, American Music Award, dan MTV Music Award.

Album kedua yang berjudul ‘Whitney’ juga membuat Whitney sukses besar dengan menancapkan 4 single pada posisi nomor satu. Meski secara musikalitas album ini dinilai kurang membawa pembaruan karena mirip dengan materi album perdananya, Whitney berhasil menjual 25 juta keping albumnya.

Whitney memang sukses luar biasa di kalangan kulit putih. Pada saat itu coba tanyakan nama Whitney di kawasan Eropa, seperti UK, Belanda, Belgia dll, semua mengenal Whitney. Sayangnya nama Whitney kurang dikenal di kaum kulit hitam Amerika sendiri. Bahkan partner duet Whitney, CeCe Winans yang popular di kalangan kulit hitam tidak mengenal nama Whitney sebelum berkenalan langsung dengan Whitney. Whitney sering dikritik musiknya terlalu putih, kurang bernuansa soul dan R&B. Akhirnya Whitney berusaha membuktikan lewat album ketiganya, ‘I’m Your Baby Tonight’ dengan bantuan Babyface, Luther Vandross dan Stevie Wonder. Album ini membuat media terpecah menjadi dua dalam menilai kemampuan artistic musiknya. Rolling Stones memberikan pujian, sementara yang lain menilai nuansa hitam di album ini terasa palsu. Kali ini Whitney hanya sukses menancapkan dua single pada posisi nomor satu. Album ini memang tidak sukses luar biasa secara komersial, meski terjual 10 juta keping, tapi Whitney berhasil mendapatkan respek di kalangan kulit hitam Amerika.

Di tahun 2001 Whitney diundang menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan Amerika ‘The Star Spangled Banner’, pada Super Bowl dan segera saja lagu Whitney membuat rekor baru single lagu kebangsaan pertama yang berhasil menembus 20 besar tangga lagu pop US 100 hit.
Setelah itu Whitney mulai merambah karir film. Debut film Whitney ‘The Bodyguard’ maupun album soundtracknya sukses luar biasa. Single ‘I Will Always Love You’ mematahkan rekor Bee Gees bercokol di posisi nomor satu tangga lagu saat itu selama 14 minggu berturut-turut. Sebuah rekor saat itu untuk artis wanita kulit hitam. Setelah sukses album ‘The Bodyguard’, Whitney kemudian menelurkan album soundtrack ‘Waiting To Exhale’ dari film yang juga dibintanginya. Lewat film ini Whitney mulai mendapatkan respek dari kritikus film karena mampu berperan dengan baik dibandingkan dengan perannya dalam The Bodyguard.

Tahun 1996 Whitney merilis album soundtrack kembali, ‘The Preacher’s Wife’ yang sukses sebagai album gospel terlaris yang pernah ada. Album ini terjual 6 juta keping di seluruh dunia. Akhir 1998 Whitney merilis album studionya yang keempat setelah 8 tahun sejak album ‘I’m Your Baby Tonight’. Album berjudul ‘My Love Is You Love’ ini meraih sukses secara respektif. Kritikus musik menyukai album ini. Meski secara komersial sukses album ini masih di bawah penjualan ‘I’m Your Baby Tonight’ tapi nama Whitney kembali berkibar di kancah dance music. Whitney berhasil berkibar kembali di daratan Eropa.

Tahun 2001 Whitney memperbarui kontraknya dengan Arista/BMG sebesar US$ 100juta untuk merilis 6 album baru belum termasuk royalti. Sayangnya kesuksesan ini terus saja dibayangi oleh berbagai gossip dan kejadian yang menimpa dirinya. Mulai dari soal kecanduan narkoba sampai kekerasan dalam rumah tangga hingga pemecatannya dari penampilan di Oscar. Akhirnya album Whitney yang ke-5 ‘Just Whitney’ dengan sukses gagal di pasaran. Setelah bercerai dengan Bobby Brown, Whitney sempat memutuskan untuk pensiun dari dunia musik. Tapi Clive Davis datang meyakinkan Whitney bahwa pasca bayang-bayang Bobby adalah saat yang tepat untuk bekerja kembali. Whitney memang pernah dikenal memiliki warna suara yang indah dan range vocal yang lebar yang membuatnya menjadi inspirasi bahkan untuk Mariah Carey sekalipun yang sering dibanding-bandingkan dengan Whitney pada awal karir Carey.

Saat ini vocal Whitney memang tidak sedahsyat pada awal karirnya seperempat abad lalu. Tapi kharismanya tidak pernah pudar. Lewat Listening Event yang diadakan Clive Davis di London, Los Angeles dan New York, Whitney mulai menampakkan tanda kelahirannya kembali. Berbagai media memberikan respons yang lumayan baik. Kini kerja keras Whitney pasca Bobby akan kita buktikan lewat album studionya yang ke-6 yang akan dirilis pada 28 Agustus ini.

At the begining there was Madonna with her single 'Like A Prayer' music video. A controversy in 80s, because of the black pastor, the kissing scene with the black pastor, the burning cross. As author Judith Marcus pointed out in her book, Surviving the Twentieth Century, Madonna used the church to make her point on victimization. Tenun Ikat or known as Ikat have been an inpiring for some Indonesian fashion designers like Poppy Dharsono and Stephanus Hamy. Looking at their beautiful designs I am inspired to do some moodboard with Ikat interpretation. It's so exciting doing some online research for applying Ikat for interior. Here are my Ikat moodboards.

There are no limits to ways of applying Ikat beautiful fabrics as they come in various patterns and colors. Ikat fabric always adds an elegant, cheerful touch to a design or suggests far away travels, and it creates a beautiful focal point in any room. The beauty of Ikat is that it takes on a life of it’s own. No other colors can be used in the space, and when an Ikat pattern is introduced, the room completely changes. It creates a striking space! Framing gorgeous scarves or fabrics, can be a great way to introduce color and interest to a room. Ikat can be used in small doses, and still make an impact. A little goes a long way! Amongst simple fabrics, Ikat fabrics can be quite the accent piece.

The AlessiTab which stands for “tablet”, literally “slab” or “small table”, has a 10.1” HD touchscreen, with graphics also designed by Giovannoni, and forms part of a versatile design that enables it to be used in various positions thanks to a gravitational sensor which rotates images 180°. Based on Google’s new open source Android operating system, AlessiTab is designed as a simple, intelligent and versatile domestic tool to be easily used by everyone. The whole family will find applications to interest them, housewives, cinema and music lovers, and who love cooking, as well as both Internet fanatics and those who are less familiar with technology. Stefano Giovannoni studied architecture at Florence University until 1978. From 1979 he taught there, as well as at the Domus Academy in Milan and the Università del Progetto in Reggio Emilia. Stefano Giovannoni is an industrial designer, interior decorator, and architect.

In the 1980s Stefano Giovannoni and Guido Venturini founded the King-Kong studio. They collaborated on the extremely successful "Girotondo" line for Alessi, which includes numerous household appliances and utilitarian objects made of metal and plastic and featuring the distinctive cut-out stick-man pictogram.

In the 1990s Stefano Giovannoni created numerous original designs and such Alessi classics as the "Fruit Mama" (1993) fruit bowl, the "Merdolina" (1993) toilet brush, and the "Lilliput" (1993) salt and peppers.

In 1995 Stefano Giovannoni designed "Mary Biscuit", a cookie jar of garishly colored plastic with an outsize cookie on the lid. This creation was followed up in 1998 by the "Ship Shape" butter dish, and, in 2000, by the "Cico" egg cup. In 2003 Stefano Giovannoni ddesigned the "Mami" line of cookware, tableware, and kitchen cutlery. Stefano Giovannoni also works for a host of other firms, including Magis, Flos, Fiat, Seiko, Siemens, Henkel, Lavazza, and Helit.

See how Hamy turns the classic Indonesian woven fabrics, like Nusa Tenggara Timur woven, into a wearable collection that is sleek, young and hype. That is why I fall in love with his works. You can check it out his previous collection in Jakarta Fashion Week here.

Hamy appear in two shows in one night. First, Hamy display a collection of his second line, "Earthnic". One stage with Barli, Hamy started a fashion show by releasing a collection of jacket made of Nusa Tenggara Timur woven. Sumba weaving motif that is identical with pictures of animals, looking chic on Hamy's jacket . Variety NTT woven motifs present in different designs with a touch by this alumni of Femina Fashion Designers Contest in 1983. The impression a modern, feminine, viscous feel in the collection "Earthnic".

"Each area has a it's own loom, weaving style and the market for traditional woven is growing better. Demand of woven is also high, in the last two years it's booming. However, the ability of resources is still limited. Therefore, I use ATBM woven, not Gedog, but also evade applying machine made woven. Machines eliminate the value of the tradition of weaving itself. Every craftsman weaving have different results despite similar motives. Craftsmen weaving with feeling so that woven has a life, "said Hamy.

Woven now a prima donna, adored by people and loved by designer who interprete diverse collection of archipelago woven into wearable clothing. According to Hamy, woven enthusiasts continue to grow along with many events that mention woven as a dress code. Woven fabric no longer only used as a shawl. Now, more elegant woven fabric attached to the body as a skirt, jacket, or blouse women..

"Years ago selling clothes made of woven fabric is hard. I had eight years of using Nusa Tenggara Timur woven. But now demand increasing, it is even hard to fulfil the demands for Gedog woven," said Hamy, who also held a single show "Jambi to Bali" after the show collection "Earthnic".

In addition to woven, Hamy also captures the beauty of traditional fabrics and songket of Bali and Jambi. His designs for Hamy Culture are solid-match jackets, trousers, skirts combination of songket of Jambi and Bali.

KAWUNG, MOTIF BATIK LOKAL MENUJU GLOBAL

Batik memang telah diakui UNESCO sebagai salah satu kekayaan budaya dunia yang berasal dari Indonesia. Namun motif batuk kawung adalah motif batik yang dapat dengan mudah mengglobal mengingat pola geometrisnya yang universal hingga dapat dengan mudah diterima oleh segala bangsa. Apa yang membuat saya memilih motif batik kawung ini adalah sebagai desain yang paling Indonesia karena pola kawung ini memiliki filosofi yang mendalam.

Motif batik Kawung

Motif kawung berasal dari penampang buah aren, biasa dikenal dengan nama kolang kaling, berbentuk oval yang dalam bahasa Jawa disebut kawung. Penampang oval tersebut ditata secara diagonal berjajar terpusat serta simetris hingga membentuk ilusi optik seakan bunga yang memiliki empat kelopak. Aren yang manis, pohonnya yang tegak lurus tak bercabang memberikan nilai keagungan, keadilan dan kebijaksaan pada motif kawung. Bunga empat kelopak menyimbolkan bunga teratai yang menambahkan nilai kesucian pada kawung. Perpaduan antara bentuk bunga dan buah membawa arti harapan dan kesuburan. Keempat arah dari kelopak bunga juga merefleksikan empat arah mata angin yang akan membawa cahaya kebijaksanaan.

Tak heran jika motif batik kawung menjadi begitu popular dengan begitu tinggi makna yang terkandung di dalamnya. Hanya di Indonesia motif yang sebenarnya universal itu mampu memiliki arti yang demikian mendalam.

Sementara teknik batik di Indonesia sudah sangat berkembang hingga bukan hanya di atas sehelai kain tapi juga di atas potongan kayu. Namun kesederhanaan motif batik kawung membuat penerapannya merupakan yang paling mudah untuk diaplikasikan.

Berkat orang-orang kreatif Indonesia, motif Kawung dapat kita temukan pada berbagai elemen ruangan sebagai dekorasi. Kawung telah diterapkan oleh desainer interior yang nama dan karyanya telah terkenal di mancanegara, Jaya Ibrahim. Ia menciptakan panel dinding yang diukir dengan motif kawung untuk Hotel Darmawangsa di Jakarta. Arsitek Heru M. Prasetyo untuk sebuah rumah tinggal rancangannya di kawasan Serpong, memberikan aksen atraktif dengan membuat partisi di teras muka rumah yang terbuat dari besi bermotif batik kawung dan diberi pengecatan rona putih. Sementara desainer interior Rudi Dodo merancang kamar tidur yang diberikan sentuhan kertas pelapis dinding maupun penutup dinding berupa panel kayu bermotif kawung di Pondok Gede.

Desainer perabot yang karyanya telah dipertunjukkan dalam berbagai pameran desain di mancanegara, Alvin Tjitrowirjo, juga telah mengaplikasikan motif kawung pada meja maupun rak berbahan besi dengan teknik laser cut yang diberi pengerjaan akhir berwarna putih.

Studio 181, sebuah studio keramik di Bandung, menghasilkan produk keramik dinding bermotif Kawung.

Sementara produsen perlengkapan makan keramik terbesar di Indonesia, Kedaung, juga menggunakan Kawung sebagai ornamen hias untuk salah satu koleksi mereka. Bukan hanya Kedaung, namun produsen kain pelapis sofa dan kertas pelapis dinding asal Amerika, Quadrille, juga telah membawa motif Kawung mendunia lewat produk mereka hingga dipajang di berbagai majalah dekorasi di Amerika.

Dalam moodboard kali ini saya mencoba mengetengahkan ide-ide yang bukanlah baru namun tak biasa diterapkan. Penggunaan sofa bed lipat yang multifungsi, bantalan berisi bola-bola styrofoam sebagai tempat duduk memberikan alternatif baru dalam perencanaan ruang. Ruang yang berukuran mungil diantisipasi dengan penggunaan cermin serta perabot-perabot berukuran rendah untuk menghindari kesan penuh.

Dua tahun yang lalu saya pernah mempublikasikan sebuah tulisan dalam blog yg telah saya tutup sebagai sebuah kritikan atas gaya berbusana penyiar di salah satu stasiun televisi swasta di Jakarta. Berikut ini saya copy paste tulisan tersebut.

Dari pagi cuma bisa liat sepintas2 acara-acara di TV tentang perayaan 17 Agustusan mulai dari Bunaken hingga Bromo. Dari pelosok sampai Istana Negara. Keren? Ya. Merinding? Ya. Bangga banget.
Tapi yg bikin mata saya sakit tuh ya kenapa kalau hari Proklamasi seperti ini kostum2 itu selalu saja kebaya dan sanggul. Entah kenapa kesannya berat dan membosankan.

Seperti siang ini ada acara di Metro TV, kedua penyiarnya, salah satunya Kania Sutisnawinata, malah pakai baju yang nggak agepropriate. Kesannya seperti oma2 umur 70 tahun.

Come on!

Baju longgar ala djelaba seperti itu apalagi dengan motif batik itu rasanya kurang pas untuk seorang Kania yang masih muda. Suruh omamu pakai baju itu lebih pantas. Kania nggak pantas.

Stylist-nya nggak belajar dari Rachel Zoe Project kali ya? Penata gayanya suruh langganan tuh tv kabel sony entertainment tv jangan dibiasakan nonton sinetron tok. Tonton tuh Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, Project Runway-nya Heidi Klum atau America Next Top Model. Tonton tuh semuanya dan belajarlah dari situ.

Dan yang parahnya Ghea Idol tampil sempurna bagai *maaf* pembantu rumah tangga daripada seorang entertainer. Dengan sanggul mengerikan, jerawat dimana2, bawahan ala celana India, kebaya terbuka. Sempurna bagai pembantu.

Duh, kalau ingat Jay Subijakto dulu menangani ulang tahun RCTI sebelum jaman krisis moneter dengan sentuhan budaya dan kekayaan alam Indonesia rasanya ini bagai sebuah kemunduran, degradasi. Padahal ada Edward Hutabarat, kok ya nggak berani keluar dana besar konsultasi sama Jay dan Edward ya?

Mungkin yang lebih oke malah tv lain macam Trans, Global, RCTI, TV One tadi pagi ya selama saya sempat lihat presenter & reporternya sih tampilannya oke. Muda dan bergaya. Satu hal yang pasti nggak harus batik kan? Kekayaaan kain Indonesia kan melimpah.

Kenapa yang presenter lelaki nggak dipakaikan kemeja polos dg shawl batik, atau dasi batik aja ketimbang pakai baju batik tok. Bosan tahu....

Dan belakangan ini saya banyak memperhatikan gaya berbusana presenter dari program televisi yang bernama so called infotainment. Sepertinya kali ini hanya Metro TV yang bisa dipuji karena presenternya tampil dengan dandanan sederhana. Sementara di televisi2 lainnya para presenternya tampil lengkap dengan gigi berpagar besi yang tampak begitu mengerikan di layar kaca seperti menyaksikan monster2 bermulut besi berusaha tampak cantik.

Entahlah darimana para presenter gosip itu mendapat ide bahwa kawat gigi itu merupakan trend mode yang sedang in?

Coba lihat bagaimana rapi dan cemerlangnya gigi putih presenter E! News seperti Giullana Rancid dan Ryan Seacrest. TANPA KAWAT GIGI. CATAT!!!

Dan yang lebih mengherankan lagi para presenter gosip di Indonesia ini lebih sering tampil dengan busana malam atau busana pesta. Lengkap dengan rias wajah yang berlebihan. Pipi seperti habis ditampar. Bulu mata talang air lengkap dengan perona mata pekat yang memberatkan kelopak mata ketimbang memperindah. Bibir merah tua menyala dengan aksentuasi warna-warna metalik dari kawat gigi menyelinap keluar.

Apakah ini merupakan sebuah simbol bahwa para presenter ini sedang berpesta merayakan gosip yang sedang menimpa para selebriti negeri ini?

Pieter Cornelis "Piet" Mondriaan, after 1912 Mondrian, later ; March 7, 1872 – February 1, 1944), was a Dutch painter. He was an important contributor to the De Stijl art movement and group, which was founded by Theo van Doesburg. He evolved a non-representational form which he termed Neo-Plasticism. This consisted of white ground, upon which was painted a grid of vertical and horizontal black lines and the three primary colors. Between his 1905 painting, The River Amstel, and his 1907 Amaryllis, Mondrian changed the spelling of his signature from Mondriaan to Mondrian.

My Version of Best Concept Cars on Shanghai Autoshow 2011

The A3 sedan is the latest Audi to get the electric e-tron treatment. In this case, it's powered by a 2-liter engine and an electric motor that Audi claims will get the car from zero to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds, and on to a top speed of 150 mph.

BMW 's Concept M5, seen here in the shadows in "Chrome Shadow" gray paint, is a lightly disguised version of the new M5. The new car will swap its V-10 for a twin-turbo V-8 that the company claims reduces fuel consumption -- and emissions -- by 25 percent.

“For this concept, Lexus designers studied characteristics that are often considered contradictory and difficult to execute together,” said Kengo Matsumoto, general manager, Lexus Design Division, Toyota Motor Corporation.

The A-Class concept, which will also be seen in New York this week, is truly a world car. This three-door hatchback will be powered by a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, and promises excellent fuel economy.

Peter Horbury, Volvo's chief designer, says "We're trying to dig deeper to find a beautiful Volvo." For the Concept Universe, he dug all the way back to the PV544, which featured a broad front end and an elevated cowl line

FLOATING PIRATE SHIP BEDROOM

Steve Kuhl has created a unique floating pirate ship inside the bedroom of his client’s six year-old-son in Minnesota, according to reports by several news sites. It features an incredible floating ship, rope bridge, and secret 55 foot slide.

The rope bridge is connected to the top of the jail cell, built to accommodate evil doers, thieves and little sisters.

Kuhl is the CEO, Creative Director, Business Development and Micro-manager of Kuhl Design Build.

The bedroom design was chosen by the boy among several options that includes a space ship, race car, castle and the pirate ship.

The floating pirate ship features an old ship’s hull made from 2×12 ribs, covered with layers of 1/2 inch plywood to serve as the planking.

Looking down the rope into the closet below. For upper body workouts climb up the rope a few times
each morning as your are getting dressed. You will be inspired by the echoes of you six grade gym coach in your brain.

The bedroom has a connecting rope bridge leading to the top of a jail cell. There is a rope, suspended from the ship’s hull, that provides drop-in access to the closet.

One of the attraction of the bedroom is a hidden spiral slide that serves as an alternative way to go downstairs.

A diagram of how the slide is built. It is housed in such a way that it is completely hidden with the exception of the entrance and exit. The adjacent staircase allows the less adventurous to go the old fashioned way if they prefer.

Tell your pal to put her coat in the last locker and watch her reaction as she discovers the hidden room within. A motion sensitive switch triggers the light to turn on, revealing an odd yet intriguing orange hole in the wall at waist height.

Here, designer Steve Kuhl tests the slide for accuracy. Also, he is carefully calibrating important features along the way. This procedure needed to berepeated for the better part of a day to insure proper slide operation.

Another personal touch in the L.A. nursery is the star-speckled ceiling. "The ceiling has orangey-pink clouds in a blue sky with golden stars twinkling. It's based on two songs I wrote that are fan favorites: 'Underneath the Stars' and 'Close My Eyes,'" revealed the singer. "Sometimes I just sit in the nursery and stare at the ceiling because I love it so much. To me, it symbolizes wanting my children to dream as big as possible and to let their imaginations be unbridled."

It's beautiful. But for me personally it's not that great compared to the budget I've read before.

Changes for final iteration of the "New Beetle" convertible largely revolve around a few minor upgrades as well as a renaming of the two trim levels.

Instead of the base and 2.5L models, the newer edition comes in standard S and deluxe SE editions; for the convertible, the SE switches from a manually-operated cloth top to a semi-automatic, powered top. It also brings a premium sound system with Sirius satellite radio, leather-wrapped surfaces for the handbrake, shift knob, and steering wheel, as well as the six-speed Tiptronic gearbox. The automatic is also an option for the S.

Compared to the model it replaced, a tire pressure monitoring system is now standard to meet safety laws; new alloy wheels are also standard on each car level, with the 16-inch "Mali" design fitted to the S and the 17-inch "Versus" design stock with the SE. Elizabeth Taylor had made a huge impression for the whole world. Her movies, her love life, her life and her concerns has filled half of 20th century. When I saw this pictures on the day she's gone, I noticed that the Peacock chair or also known as fan back chair she used to sit in the picture is so influential. I remember my grandma had one of a kind in her home, back in Surabaya years ago. I think i saw that chair too in some old movies, too bad I can't remember the title. The high and wide back make you look like sitting on a sort of throne. The Peacock chair's grande presence featured Liz Taylor has inspired people to take the same style pictures in their own styles, from the classic Zsa Zsa Gabor to modern Sienna Miller and contemporary Elly Jackson of La Roux. BRAVACASA Indonesia is calling all of you non-professional designers aged from 19 to 35 to join us in our Design Challenge!

Design a product that fits one of our categories:
- furniture
- lighting
- kitchenware

Create the technical drawing showing the top elevation, side elevation, two sections, perspective, and detail, complete with the dimensions and materials used.

Along with your self portrait, copy of ID, a letter from your university/school (for students) or a copy of your latest education certificate, and a completed form of BRAVACASA design challenge entry (provided inside BRAVACASA Feb-April 2011 and BRAVACASA May-July 2011 editions)
